Case Study 01

Call Centre Transcription — Logistics

Challenge

A Shah Alam logistics provider needed to analyse customer call recordings for quality assurance but had no system for transcription. Existing speech-to-text tools produced unusable output because of the mixed Bahasa-English spoken by their agents and customers.

Solution

Gemilang Tech evaluated four speech platforms against their call recordings, selected one with the strongest baseline for Malaysian English, and customised the acoustic model with logistics-specific terminology. API integration connected the system to their existing call recording infrastructure.

Results

Word error rate dropped from above 40% to under 12% after acoustic tuning. QA team could process five times more calls per week. System handed over with documentation in week seven.

AI Project Leadership Training — Healthcare Admin

Challenge

A Petaling Jaya healthcare administration group was launching its first AI-enabled patient record management initiative. Three project managers were assigned but had never worked on AI projects before, and the vendor they engaged was not communicating clearly about requirements.

Solution

All three managers attended the AI Project Management Foundations programme. The curriculum was supplemented with one session specifically about evaluating and communicating with ML vendors, which addressed their immediate situation directly.

Solution

Gemilang Tech designed an ontology for the manufacturing domain, mapped and extracted entities from all three systems, built a knowledge graph connecting products, suppliers, components, and maintenance events, and developed a query interface for non-technical users.

Results

Cross-system queries that previously took an average of 45 minutes now take under two minutes. The maintenance team uses the graph daily to identify supplier relationships for critical components. Project completed in month five.
